Getting feedback on your manuscript is an essential part of the writing process. Made Live makes it easy to share your work with beta readers, editors, or anyone else helping you refine your story.
How to Share Your Manuscript
- Click the Share button in the top menu bar
- In the sharing dialog, select Manuscript from the workspace options
- Choose your preferred format:
- PDF: Best for general feedback and readability
- MS Word: Ideal when you need editors to make tracked changes
- Select what manuscript details you want to share in your download (e.g. text, comments, breaks, imagery notes, etc.)
- Click Continue
- Once processing is complete, your Download will appear in the downloads folder on your computer
- Send the downloaded file to your beta readers or editors via email
Tips for Effective Sharing
- Add a brief note about the specific feedback you’re looking for
- Consider including your target audience information to help reviewers provide relevant suggestions
- If sharing with professional editors, specify whether you want developmental, line, or copy editing
- Set a clear deadline for when you need feedback returned
Your manuscript will be exported exactly as it appears in the Made Live editor, including any spread break markers and tags you’ve added as long as you’ve elected to include those details in your download.
